The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant.

Greetings, Inspired Travelers!
There seems to be a surge in conversations about leadership these days. Each client I visit, each coaching session held — even visits to the local coffee shop — are framing discussions on leadership: what it is and what it isn't. So, if you are a leader or a rising one, you may want to add your voice to the conversation.
While there are many styles of leadership, the core of all of them, when successful, is service; to be of service to those one leads is not only the greatest gift but is the clearest path of success.
So, what does service-centered leadership look like? These great leaders care about people before profit and set aside personal agendas for the greater good. They are able to live and thrive in the midst of ambiguity and hold creative and intellectual tensions in balance. Great leaders, focused on service, also have the ability for thinking beyond barriers and approaching issues in a holistic, comprehensive way. It's easy to see why leadership is not for everyone…
If you want to up your leadership game, here are some challenges to meet:
Rest assured that none of the above is easy — that's why leadership is so challenging and why so many are unsuccessful. Set yourself apart. Set your team apart.
May you be recognized for your devotion to service and those you serve and may you grow new leaders to pick up the baton and become a part of the conversation!
Be magnificent! Have an Inspirational Day!
