Inspirational Infusion

#73 — April 1, 2015

Look not mournfully into the past. It comes not back again. Wisely improve the present. It is thine. Go forth to meet the shadowy future, without fear.

— Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Greetings, Inspired Traveler!

Longfellow’s words ring especially true today for all of us at InspirationInProgress. For it was on this day, seven years ago, that we opened our doors, our minds and our hearts and set forth the intention to help organizations reach new potential through the holistic development of their leaders. And you are receiving this newsletter because you are among those we have, hopefully, aided. We thank you for allowing us the privilege to serve.

When I am speaking at a conference or a workshop or, sometimes, in a coaching session, there is one question that I am asked consistently: How do you stay inspired? Well, after 7 years, this is what I have learned:

♦ Inspire the Intellect! Continuous learning is a must if we are to help others learn and grow. Every day, I ask: What did I learn today? And, there had better be a good answer!
♦ Inspire the Body! I can’t lead 7 and 8 hour workshops if I don’t get some walking in. A mid-day walk gets the muscles moving and stimulates the brain. It’s also a good source of new ideas.
♦ Inspire the Heart! Without an emotional connection to those we serve we miss the biggest opportunity for meaningful connection and sharing. What touches people inspires people. When my heart is open, I learn, grow and innovate. If I don’t care … why should they?
♦ Inspire the Spirit! When I connect to that internal passion that drives me and fills me with purpose, it is evident in all I do. What inspires my connection to the greater good inspires others. So I’m told!

If you have read these pages for any length of time, you know that we believe in honoring and developing the whole person and the whole organization. So we must believe in doing the same for ourselves.

From the bottom of my heart, the center of my spirit, and with all of the positive energy and good thoughts I can hold, I thank you for your trust in our work and your commitment to excellence, and for allowing me to walk your journey with you!

Here’s to another Inspirational Year!

Be Magnificent!
Have an Inspirational Day!
