Leadership has a harder job to do than just choose sides.

It must bring sides together.

Welcome, Inspired Traveler!

Leadership is an inspired choice. It is the choice we make when we are able to see a new future that is better than the present we live in. It is the choice we make when we get off the fence and jump to one side. It is the choice we make when we guide others off the fence and into that new, bright future.

But leadership is also a choice to unite; it is a choice to be inclusive rather than exclusive and it is a choice to inspire greatness, embracing both commonalities and differences. It is the choice to link people, passion and possibilities rather than to allow them to unravel.

So, in the spirit of inquiry rather than advocacy, let me pose these thoughtful questions for you to ponder:

  • What are you engaged in that is uniting your workforce in these turbulent times?

  • How are you inspiring those around you to reach their full potential in this life?

  • Are you an inspirational leader at work, at home and in your community?

  • Are your choices aligned with your values and passions?

Today is a challenging time for leaders; it is a time when many will use their gifts to inspire division rather than harmony, separation rather than unison.  Leaders don't necessarily make these choices because they are bad people; leaders sometimes make these choices because fear makes them look easier.

In spite of the challenges we face in today's world, we have much to be thankful for in our lives. And, as we celebrate the season of thanks giving, let's remember that, although our similarities cause us to move in the same direction, our diversity of thought can enrich our lives, challenge our minds and strengthen our souls.

Do more than lead by choosing sides; lead by creating a new and fertile ground where profound questions can be answered from both sides of lowered fences. In doing so, you will choose a path of inspired leadership on a journey to reaching full potential.

Have an Inspirational Day! Be magnificent!
